Stop creating duplicate Retail Express Customers Through Klaviyo

If the Shopify integration is enabled in Klaviyo then the system will keep the two customer lists in sync.

However a Klaviyo customer then creating in Shopify will then feed through to Retail Express, this creates duplicated email addresses in Retail Express.


Customers can be prevented from propagating through to Shopify by changing the following setting:

  1. In the Klaviyo dashboard, click the current account in the account in the bottom-left
  2. Select Integrations in the resulting popup menu
  3. Open the Shopify integration
  4. Scroll down to the Sync settings section and select the To Shopify tab
  5. If Sync profiles, profile data, and custom properties from Klaviyo to Shopify is enabled, set Profiles that already exist in Shopify as the type of profile to sync to Shopify.


This is an example of the WRONG setting



You can also set up custom profiles for specific fields to Shopify. This can provide a basic version of our Supercharger connection to get information from Retail Express in to Shopify.
