QUESTION
The product names being fetched from REX are incorrect. For example, the product names on the website appear as "Livia Occ Chair-Barley/Oat Boucle," "Lachlan Dining Armchair-Burgundy," and "Penn Occ Chair-Oat Bouc/Blk." Additionally, abbreviations like "Occ Chair" are used, which should be expanded to the full form, such as "Occasional Chair."
Could you recommend a simple solution to resolve this issue, ensuring that future updates to stock or pricing don't affect the product names, and that the correct names are consistently displayed on the website?
Do we need to update the product names in REX, or is it possible to adjust the field mapping to fetch the correct product names? Alternatively, would it be better to manually update the product names directly in WooCommerce?
I assume manual updates would be a one-time task, ensuring the correct names are maintained moving forward?
ANSWER
This is a common issue and we recommend that you do not alter the descriptions in Retail Express to suit the needs for the website.
As POS and warehouse these are needed for point of sale and locating products.
We use these as the default descriptions from Retail Express and once they are in WooCommerce, you can then change them to your heart's content, including adding special terms for SEO etc.
